This year, NB1.hu organized the Hungarian Golden Ball award ceremony. The editorial team invited Hungarian football-focused editorial offices and sports journalists to vote, and their votes determined the nominees. NB1.hu initiated a poll on January 13, asking the readers to choose the best individuals of Hungarian football in 2023. In each category, there were five names that received at least one vote from journalists, but readers also had the option to vote for others.

The closest competition was in the category of foreign coaches working in Hungarian football. Eventually, the Serbian coach of DVSC, Srdjan Blagojevic, was named the best (39%). He surpassed the current coach of Ferencváros, Dejan Stankovic (30%), and the former coach of FTC, Stanislav Cherchesov (20%).
