It is a huge source of joy and pride to see the performances that our DVSC Football Academy graduates have been putting in for the first team this season. Our young talents are not simply coming on for a few minutes — they are regularly playing a leading role in our matches, even starting games. That has been the case in European competition and the OTP Bank Liga as well. Here, we take a closer look at their contributions.

Flórián Cibla has already established himself as an almost regular member of the team, featuring in six of our seven league matches. He also scored the winning goal against Pyunik Yerevan in the UEFA Conference League.

Nineteen-year-old Imre Egri made his debut in the first team against Paks, marking the occasion with an impressive performance and an assist. Let’s not forget that he has also already scored twice and provided one assist for NB II side Karcag.

Benedek Erdélyi, our 20-year-old goalkeeper, has featured in two league matches so far and has already shown his potential with several impressive saves.

Nineteen-year-old Dávid Patai has been involved in all seven of our league matches, starting five of them. Our midfielder has already registered an assist.

Twenty-year-old Balázs Sain has made five appearances in the league, and his performances continue to improve game by game.

Dénes Szakál is just 17 years old, even younger than the others, but he has already displayed remarkable maturity in both of his appearances, showing the composure and decision-making of a much more experienced player.

Nineteen-year-old Gergő Tercza has already had to overcome a minor injury this season, nevertheless, he has featured in six of our seven league matches, delivering solid and reliable performances.

That gives us seven young academy graduates who have already played a significant role for the first team — something quite remarkable in modern football. In fact, Balázs Dzsudzsák, Erik Kusnyir, Dániel Póser and Márk Szécsi also came through the DVSC youth academy, it is clear that the club continues to benefit from players with a strong connection to Debrecen.

It is also worth highlighting that Vilmos Dénes, who already has one goal and two assists this season, is just 21, while Ákos Szendrei, with three goals and two assists to his name, is only 23. There is certainly no shortage of young energy in the squad of Loki. With our foreign players also capable of making valuable contributions, there is plenty of reason for optimism about the future. Under head coach Gert Remmel, an exciting team with plenty of potential is taking shape.
