A real derby was ahead of DVSC in the 11th round of Fizz Liga, hosting Újpest at Nagyerdei Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Among the starting XI was our young player, Flórián Cibla. There were eight Hungarian players in our team from the very first minute, while in Újpest, only one Hungarian was in the starting line-up.

Both teams started the match dynamically and DVSC was playing its usual smart and tactical style. Moreover, we have taken the lead already in the 8th minute! After a right-sided cross, Donát Bárány could put the ball in front of himself and shot it into the bottom right corner from 8 meters (1-0). It was a great start for our team and it continued as in the 12th minute, Piscitelli made a huge save to deny Dominik Kocsis’s clear-cut chance.

At the other end, Ádám Varga also had to deny Matko’s attempt, but the Locomotive could not be stopped. In the 15th minute, Amos Youga took the ball and fired it precisely into the bottom right corner from 16 meters (2-0). Loki played brilliant football and after some turmoil, even Ádám Lang could have scored, but it went over the goal. The third Debrecen goal was in the air, while on the other side, Ademi headed over the goal in the 27th minute.

Before the break, Újpest tried to organize their play, but Loki showed no mercy. In the 30th minute, after another beautiful attack starting from Balázs Dzsudzsák, Dominik Kocsis provided an assist to Donát Bárány, who curled the ball into the net from close-range (3-0). Then, Ádám Varga made a brilliant save to deny Matko’s attempt, while Balázs Dzsudzsák hit the crossbar. No more goals were scored until the break, however, it was a fantastic first-half and memorable performance from our team.

Botond Vajda came on the for the 2nd half and Újpest obviously tried to put some pressure on Loki. In the 50th minute, Ádám Varga performed a feat in order to deny Medeiros’s shot from 16 meters out, then Tucic shot over the goal from close-range. DVSC reacted fast: after a fantastic attack, Dominik Kocsis passed the ball to Flórián Cibla, who made a great shot and fond the net from 17 meters, scoring his first goal in NBI. Moreover, in the 49th minute, Dominik Kocsis got a pass from Flórián Cibla, he broke through and scored (5-0).

In the next minutes, Újpest was awarded a penalty, Medeiros converted it in the 64th minute (5-1). In the meanwhile, Pape Sissoko, Soma Szuhodovszki came on, later Fran Manzanara and Dorde Gordic as well. In the 74th minute, after a free-kick, Lacoux found the net, scoring a consolation goal (5-2).

Both teams could have scored in the last 15 minutes, but the score stayed 5-2. Loki, which has been unbeaten for long weeks, claimed a convincing victory and finished the first third of the championship with 19 points. Well done, guys!

The next match will be a Hungarian Cup game against Honvéd, starting from 8 pm. on Thursday at Nagyerdei Stadium.

Sergio Navarro: I’m really happy for our performance, we read the game well and our plan worked. We could have scored even more goals and the guys had a great mentality.

Damir Krznar: At the beginning, we did not react well to the goals of our opponent, we wanted to equalize to fast, we did not finish our actions and opened up too much. After the break, we created good chances, but we missed them and we could have even made the game close. Then, we conceded more goals and even though we could also score, the fighting spirit was missing.

A difficult task was ahead of DVSC in the 10th round of Fizz Liga, playing at the home of the unbeaten Paks, the leader of the table. Among the starting XI were Bence Batik and Soma Szuhodovszki as well.

The match started with an attempt from Paks as in the 2nd minute, Ádám Varga had to perform a feat in order to deny a close-range shot. As an answer to that, in the 3rd minute, Dominik Kocsis made a shot, which was blocked by the defenders. In the 4th minute, Kovácsik made a brilliant save to deny Donát Bárány’s powerful shot from 14 meters. The beginning of the match was full of action.

In the next minutes, midfield play took over, with plenty of duels and battles for every ball. In the 26th minute, Dominik Kocsis shot over the goal from 17 meters and shortly after, Bence Batik’s header was saved by the goalkeeper of Paks, so Loki joined the fight. In the 33rd minute, two home players collided badly. Fortunately, it was not that serious, though Lenzsér had to be substituted. No goals were scored until the break.

At the beginning of the 2nd half, Ádám Land had to save from the goal line after Barna Tóth’s header. However, in the 50th minute, Paks took the lead: Hahn shot the ball into the right side of the goal from 6 meters (1-0). Not long after, in the 56th minute, Donát Bárány fought for a ball and made a cross within the box, which was punched away by the goalkeeper and on the long side, Adrian Guerrero found the net with his head from a few meters out (1-1). In the following minutes, Varga made another great save to deny Tóth’s attempt. There was a huge fight on the pitch.

Álex Bermejo and György Komáromi came off the bench for the last 30 minutes and DVSC tried to have more possession of the ball. In the 72nd minute, Donát Bárány found himseld in a one-on-one opportunity, but Kovácsik cleared. Julien Dacosta, Amos Youga and Flórián Cibla came on as substitutions for the endgame and both teams tried to decide the game. Paks managed to score one goal, but it was disallowed, while Donát Bárány missed a clear-cut chance. In the end, the points were shared and Loki earned another valuable point.

György Bognár: In a football match, it’s not the performance of two teams that matters only…

Sergio Navarro: It was a tough match against the favourite of the league and overall, I can be satisfied. In the first half, we defended well, while after the break, we had more difficulties, but the substitutions entered well. We even could have won the match.

This week, there is no league match due to the World Cup qualifiers of the national teams, however, DVSC played a training match on Wednesday at Nagyerdei Stadium. The opponent of Loki was Karcag, which is performing well in the second-division. During the match, those players got an opportunity who have had less playing minutes, while in the ranks of Karcag, several Loki players, being on loan, stepped onto the pitch.

In the first half, both teams had some chances, but DVSC took the lead in the 28th minute. After a corner, Fran Manzanara headed the ball into the right corner of the goal (1-0). No more goals were scored until the break. In the second half, Pape Sissoko’s goal was flagged for offside, then in the following minutes, goalkeepers at both ends performed a feat. In the 72nd minute, Karcag equalized with Dávid Székely’s header (1-1) and the match ended with a draw.

After a long break, DVSC played again at home on Saturday evening and the top-of-the-table clash against Győr promised an exciting battle. Maximilian Hofmann, Dejan Djokic, Víctor Camarasa and Erik Kusnyir were not in the squad. However, among the starting XI were Julien Dacosta and Vajda Botond as well.

Since it’s already October, our team also highlighted the importance of breast cancer prevention before the match. Botond Vajda was celebrated as he had already made 50 appearances in the first-division in the colours of Loki.

At the very beginning of the match, it was mainly Győr trying to create chances, but they were unable to pose any serious threat in front of the goal of Debrecen. However, Loki could do so at the other side: in the 13rd minute, Petrás made a brilliant save to deny Botond Vajda’s shot from 13 meters. After that, the duels were dominating, but in the 19th minute Ádám Varga saved the close-range header of Csinger.

In the second part of the 1st half, Győr had more possession of the ball and they scored, but it was flagged for offside. In the 32nd minute, Balázs Dzsudzsák unleashed a powerful shot, which went over the goal. Until the break, Donát Bárány also had one attempt, but no bigger chances were created and there was a tactical battle on the pitch. Nevertheless, Ádám Varga had to perform one feat during the extra time.

DVSC started the 2nd half more actively and took the lead as well! In the 49th minute, Balázs Dzsudzsák fantastically curled the ball into the upper right corner of the goal from a free-kick from 17 meters (1-0).

Győr missed a one-on-one opportunity, then in the 60th minute, Petrás saved Dominik Kocsis’s shot. The excitement and the pace intensified as both teams gave their all in the last 30 minutes. In one situation, the ball accidentally hit Ádám Lang’s hand inside the box and after a VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty. Anton converted the penalty in the 66th minute (1-1).

Dorde Gordic came on for the endgame (later Bence Batik and Márk Szécsi also came off the bench), the game was intense and both teams had some dangerous chances. In the 75th minute, the goalkeeper of Győr saved the close-range header of Donát Bárány, then in the 80th minute, Ádám Varga made a brilliant save. There were some more chances in the final minutes as well, but no more goals were scored, so two good teams shared the points.

Sergio Navarro: It was a tough game against one of the best teams in the league. In the first half, we had to adapt to the system of Győr, which we managed to do. After the break, we took the lead, but it ended in a draw. I’m happy for the team’s performance and the progress is continuous.

Balázs Borbély: It was an interesting match, regarding tactics and quality the two teams played a similar style. Maybe we were closer to the victory, but football is all about scoring goals.

After the successful trip to Kisvárda, DVSC continued the league at the home of Diósgyőr on Saturday. Bence Batik, Maximilian Hofmann, Víctor Camarasa and Erik Kusnyir were missing, but Julien Dacosta was back in the starting XI.

The match started at a good pace and mainly with attempts from the home team. In the 3rd minute, Vallejo shot the ball over the goal from 13 meters, then in the 5th minute, Álex Bermejo made a shot towards the long corner from within the box, but Sentic made a brilliant save. After that DVSC had more possession of the ball, but in the 12th minute, Vallejo found himself in a scoring opportunity again, but he missed the target as well as Acolatse.

After Álex Bermejo’s shot in the 14th minute, the home goalkeeper punched the ball away from under the bar. In the 16th minute, Sentic made a great save to deny Donát Bárány’s close-range header. The goal seemed imminent, but chances were missed on both sides. In the 27th minute, Ádám Varga confidently stopped Babos’ attempt, then a quickly quiter phase of the game began. The play became more vivid before the break: in the 39th minute, Tamás Szűcs’s long-range shot was deflected and only narrowly missed the target. In the 45th minute, Dominik Kocsis made a fine run, but his close-range effort struck the right post and bounced out, so the first half ended without any goals.

At the very beginning of the second half, Sentic saved Balázs Dzsudzsák’s shot and it was more likely that DVSC would score. During this period, Loki’s dominance in possession was clear. In the 54th minute, Sentic saved Álex Bermejo’s shot, while at the other end, Acolatse’s curling shot went just wide.

Soma Szuhodovszki came off the bench for the last 30 minutes (later Botond Vajda, György Komáromi and Márk Szécsi also came on) and the fight intensified. DVSC had more attempts during the endgame, but could not score the winning goal. However, it is a valuable point, earned in Diósgyőr.

Vladimir Radenkovic: It was a really tough match for us. We knew how good Debrecen was. Overall, we did a good job, but we should have led more dangerous attacks. I am proud of the players. We have been unbeaten for five rounds, so the direction is good.

Sergio Navarro: I am really satisfied with the team. It was a good match, we had a plan, which worked and we could have won. Finally, we earned one point, but it can also give us confidence for the future.

DVSC secured an important victory with Donát Bárány’s goal in Kisvárda. Our players’ performance has been recognized by the professional press as well. At M4 Sport, Ádám Lang was among the best players of the 7th round, while Csakfoci named Márk Szécsi and Adrian Guerrero in the team of the round. Botond Vajda was chosen as one of the best substitutions of the matchday. Nemzeti Sport nominated Donát Bárány for the team of the round with a rating of 7.

After the international break and successful cup round, DVSC continued the league in Kisvárda on Sunday. Bence Batik, Maximilian Hofmann and Erik Kusnyir were missing from the sqaud. However, among the starting XI were Adrian Guerrero, Amos Youga and Álex Bermejo too.

At the very beginning of the match, Loki dominated and in the 2nd minute, the goalkeeper of Kisvárda saved Álex Bermejo’s long-range attempt. After that the play became more balanced, and in the 16th minute, the home goalkeeper saved Balázs Dzsudzsák’s cross, but no bigger chances arouse.

In the 22nd minute, Szabó took on a free-kick from close-range, but Ádám Varga managed to save the acute curl. After that the defenders blocked Balázs Dzsudzsák’s powerful shot. There were a lot of duels and it looked obvious that the team that scores first, will take a huge step towards the victory. In the 37th minute, Bárány Donát’s shot bounced off a defender, but no goals were scored until the break.

The 2nd half started with a one-on-one opportunity for Loki. In the 47th minute, the goalkeeper saved Bárány Donát’s shot from 11 meters with his leg, but Kisvárda also had a chance as Szabó made a powerful shot from 12 meters, which hit the left post. Neither team was able to gain the upper hand, so the last half an hour promised to be very exciting.

The excitements did come: Donát Bárány was fouled in a clear scoring chance that would have meant a red card, but the referee signaled an offside. The VAR confirmed the decision, though it did not seem like that. Fran Manzanara and Botond Vajda came on (later joined by György Komáromi), while DVSC tried to mobilize its remaining reserves of energy. In the final minutes, the most dangerous situations arouse in front of the goal of Kisvárda. In the 75th minute, Dominik Kocsis, hit the left post from 15 meters at the end a great action.

Then, the Loki goal came in the 81st minute! Adrian Guerrero made a great cross from the left and Donát Bárány made a diving header from close-range into the goal of Popovics (0-1). This goal meant three points and an important victory, even though Kisvárda also hit the bar during the extra time. Thus, DVSC is the second in the table.

The next match will be on Saturday against Diósgyőr.

Máté Gerliczki: It was a fairly even match. I feel that in the second half we took the initiative, but we weren’t the ones that scored. There can be no complaints about the players.

Sergio Navarro: We expected a tough match and trained hard for that. We had a plan, which we could carry out in the end. I’m happy that we managed to score and we win, and I’m satisfied with our performance.

DVSC played at the home of the third-division Veszprém on Saturday in order to secure a spot among the best 32 in the MOL Hungarian Cup. Among the starting XI, there were some players who have had less playing opportunity so far.

At the very beginning of the match, Loki took the initiative, supported by a great number of Debrecen fans. The first bigger chance came in the 7th minute, when the goalkeeper of Veszprém performed a feat in order to deny Soma Szuhodovszki’s header. In the 11th minute, Álex Bermejo shot the ball over the goal from 12 meters, then in the 22nd minute, Donát Bárány’s header missed the target.

In the second part of the 1st half, our team took the lead. After a great cross from Botond Vajda in the 35th minute, György Komáromi shot the ball into the left side of the goal from 11 meters, scoring his first goal in DVSC (0-1).

As expected, Loki dominated in the 2nd half as well. In the 49th minute, Soma Szuhodovszki shot just wide off the goal from 15 meters. Our midfielder has almost scored from a free-kick as well, but the home goalkeeper made a great save.

At the beginning of the last 30 minutes, DVSC was awarded a penalty due to a handball. In the 63rd minute, Donát Bárány converted the penalty with a cool head (0-2). Thus, advancement to the next round has been decided. In the remaining time, the substitutions came on (both Victor Camarasa and Dénes Szakál debuted in an official match). Even though there were more chances, the score remained unchanged. Thus, Loki confidently progressed to the next round. The draw will be on Sunday, starting from 6.45 pm.

DVSC signed the Spanish Víctor Camarasa. The 31-year-old, former U21 national team midfielder started his career at Levante, after which he played at Alavas and Betis in his home country. In 2018, he signed for Cardiff, then for Crystal Palace. Thus, after La Liga, he proved himself in the Premier League as well. He scored against teams, such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. After playing in England, he returned to Spain and played memorable matches in the colours of Betis, Alaves and Oviedo. Recently, he has been a player of Eldense.

Víctor Camarasa has played in 140 matches in the Spanish first-division, scoring 8 goals and providing 6 assists. In the Premier League, he has scored 5 goals and provided 4 assists in 33 matches. With his top-league experience, he can be a great reinforcement for our team.

Welcome to Loki!

Due to the World Cup qualifiers, the league is on a break, so we could have a look at some statistics. One such figure is the average attendance, which is one of the most important indicators for a club. After six rounds in the 2025/26 season of Fizz Liga, DVSC’s matches drawn the largest crowds, with an average of 9,851 spectators. Even though two our of three home matches were major derbies (against Nyíregyháza and FTC), this number is still remarkable. Behind Loki, Ferencváros ranks second, while Újpest is the third on the list. Thank you for your support! Hajrá, Loki!

DVSC, which started the championship well and was on the podium after 5 rounds, hosted the title defender Ferencváros in front of full stands on Sunday evening. Julien Dacosta, Adrian Guerrero and Erik Kusnyir were not in the squad. However, Joshua Mejias was among the starting XI.

Two of our top players have recently reached a great milestone. Our excellent defender, Ádám Lang made his 100^th appearance in the first division, while our captain, Balázs Dzsudzsák has worn the DVSC jersey already during 200 matches. Before the match, Ádám Lang was greeted by Balázs Makray, director of institutional and strategic relations, while Balázs Dzsudzsák by president Ike Thierry Zaengel.

At the beginning of the match, both teams showed a tactical play. In the 8^th minute, Szalai tried from distance, but the ball went over the goal. Not long after, Josua Mejias made a great save right in front of the goal. Ferencváros dominated and in the 13^th minute, Kanichowsky hit the bar, then Ádám Varga made a brilliant save to deny Pesic’s header. In the 14^th minute, he could not help as Barnabás Varga headed the ball into the right side of the goal after a corner (0-1).

Loki had a tough challenge, playing against a team, which competes in the Europa League. In the 24^th minute, it looked like the guest team have doubled their advantage with Cadu’s close-range shot, but the goal was disallowed for offside. As halftime approached, the game became more balanced at times. In the 39^th minute, Dibusz saved Donát Bárány’s shot. Still, Ferencváros managed to score again before the break. In the 40^th minute, after a smoothly executed move, Barnabás Varga slotted the ball home from 10 meters (0-2).

Botond Vajda came on for the 2^nd half and DVSC tried to get closer to their opponent. In the 50^th minute, Dominik Kocsis made a run on the left side, crossed the ball into the centre and Bárány Donát shot the ball into the far corner from 11 meters. However, the VAR disallowed the goal for offside. In the 54^th minute, Tamás Szűcs shot wide off the goal and Loki’s performance was much better.

Both teams had some chances in the next minutes, but the goalkeepers had less to do at these times. Dejan Djokic came off the bench for the last 20 minutes as well as Dorde Gordic (later Flórián Cibla came on and Pape Sissoko, who made his debut). In the 73^rd minute, Tamás Szűcs almost scored, but Dibusz performed a huge save.

DVSC’s midfielder, Amos Youga received a call-up to the national team of the Central African Republic. The 32-year-old player has already made 28 appearances in the national team of his country and during the next weeks, he may reach 30 caps. The national team of the Central African Republic will play two World Cup qualifiers, facing Madagascar on September 4 and Comoros Islands on September 7.

Our Venezuelan defender, Josua Mejias is also a member of his home country’s national team squad. The 27-year-old player has made 4 appearances for the national team so far.
