DVSC, which was the fourth on the table before the round, hosted the third-place Paks on Saturday afternoon at Nagyerdei Stadium. Due to suspension, head coach Sergio Navarro was missing (he was subsituted by Alex Pallarés assistant coach) and Dominik Kocsis as well. Julien Dacosta and Víctor Camarasa were out of the squad, however, Botond Vajda and Bence Batik were among the starting XI.
In this match, Tamás Szűcs made his 50th appearance in NBI for DVSC. On this ocassion, the 21-year-old midfielder of Loki was congratulated by sporting director Ádám Bogdán.
At the very beginning of the match, Paks made several several attempts. In the 3rd minute, Benedek Erdélyi saved the long-range shot of Hahn, then in the 7th minute, our young goalkeeper made a brilliant save to deny Balogh’s close-range header. The pace was vivid, there were many duels, which was expected. In the 27th minute, Balogh shot wide off the goal from 21 meters and after 30 minutes, Loki started to take control of the match. The opponent’s goalkeeper saved Flórián Cibla’s header and at the end of the 1st half, the defenders of Paks blocked Bárány Donát’s shot within the box. In stoppage time, the ball struck a Paks player’s hand in the penalty area following an attempt by Josua Mejías. The incident was reviewed by VAR, but no penalty was awarded.
The second half started with the attempts of Debrecen and the goal also came! In the 50th minute, Josua Mejías took a shot from inside the penalty area and Donát Bárány shot the rebound into the net (1–0). There was a lengthy VAR review, but referee Berke awarded the goal. Shortly afterwards, György Komáromi curled the ball just wide off the goal and the crowd got fired up as well.
In the next minutes, Paks tried to put pressure on our team, but DVSC played well and took control of the match. Twenty five minutes before the end, Soma Szuhodovszki came off the bench (later Álex Bermejo, Amos Youga and Márk Szécsi as well) and Loki tried to save the advantage in order to win the match. Donát Bárány, Soma Szuhodovszki, Tamás Szűcs and at the other side, Ádám Martin was also close to scoring, but at the end, no one found the net. Thus, Loki won the match and earned another three valuable points. Well done, guys!
The next match will be away against Újpest on Friday.
According to the coach
Alex Pallarés: Eighty percent of a team’s performance comes from mentality. We also did this mental preparation and work during the week. We earned a well-deserved victory.
György Bognár: I regret this defeat; my team lacked experience. The first half was good from our side, but in the second half we did not play well.

In the 20th round of Fizz Liga, DVSC earned a 2–2 draw away to league leaders Győr under challenging circumstances, with several members of our team delivering outstanding performances.
Accordingly, at Nemzeti Sport our young goalkeeper Erdélyi Benedek—who received a rating of 8—was named as the Player of the Round, while Szuhodovszki Soma and György Komáromi were also selected for the Team of the Matchday. Csakfoci included Amos Youga and Szuhodovszki Soma in their best XI, and at M4 Sport, Amos Youga and Szuhodovszki Soma were again among the best.
Erdélyi Benedek’s goal-line save was chosen as the second-best save of round 20, while Szuhodovszki Soma’s powerfiul strike was voted as the third greatest goal. Congratulations to our players!
The most difficult task of this season was ahead of DVSC on the last day of January, playing at the home of the league leader Győr, who are riding a winning streak. Head coach Sergio Navarro could not count on Julien Dacosta, Víctor Camarasa as well as Dominik Kocsis, who was suspended. Among the starting XI were Benedek Erdélyi, Ádám Lang, Adrian Guerrero, György Komáromi, Flórián Cibla and Soma Szuhodovszki too.
At the beginnig of the match, Győr had more possession of the ball, but could not create serious chances. In the 9th minute, Valdoiu headed over the goal, then in the 14th minute, Megyeri saved Flórián Cibla’s attempt at the other end of the pitch. The tempo was not high, but the tactical battle was intense and it was clear that our team prepared well for the opponent.
Midfield play dominated for a long time. In the 27th minute, Benedek Erdélyi saved Vingler’s long-range attempt. The play did not change for quite a long time, but in the 38th minute, Loki took the lead. Soma Szuhodovszki broke through with a pass from Flórián Cibla and from 14 meters out on the left, he fired an excellent shot into the top left corner (0-1). Thus, our team went on a break with an advantage, though this also required a huge, goal-line save from Benedek Erdélyi during the extra time.
At the beginning of the 2nd half, our goalkeeper saved the attempt of Njie, who came on as a substitution. Then, in the 50th minute, Loki scored again! At the end of a brilliant attack, Balázs Dzsudzsák made a great pass from the left and György Komáromi, who was arriving on the far corner, nodded the ball into the net from close-range (0-2).
After that Adrian Guerrero had to be substituted due to an injury and Botond Vajda came on to substitute him. Győr tried everything in order to pull one back and had several chances, but DVSC played very well.
At the start of the final half hour, VAR awarded a penalty to the hosts after Schön went down next to Botond Vajda. Vitális converted the penalty in the 65th minute (1-2). Donát Bárány and Álex Bermejo came on, the latter immediately testing Balázs Megyeri. The match grew increasingly tense, fitting for a derby. In the closing stages ETO pushed forward, but Loki defended well. Bence Batik and Dorde Gordic also came on as substitutions, and in the 89th minute, Győr was awarded another penalty after an unintentional handball by Bence Batik. Vitális converted the penalty again in the 95th minute, making it a draw (2–2). At the end, referee Márton Rúsz sent off both head coaches. After a huge battle, DVSC earned a valuable point and deserve great praise.
The next match will be against Paks next Saturday at Nagyerdei Stadium.
According to the coach
Balázs Borbély: It was an exciting match, there emotions, chances and the fans probably enjoyed it. Our defense broke at the time of two counter-attacks, from which we conceded two goals. However, it is positive that we could put a great pressure on our opponent at 0-2 and we could equalize.
Sergio Navarro: I apologize for my behaviour, but sometimes I have to defend the players and the team. We played against one of the best Hungarian teams, scored two fantastic goals and I’m satisfied with the team’s performance. We would have deserved more.
Fizz Liga, round 20.
ETO FC-DVSC 2-2 (0-1).
Győr, 5059 spectators. Referee: Rúsz M.
ETO FC: Megyeri – Vladoiu, Krpic, Csinger (Tóth R., 81.), Stefulj – Vingler, Vitális – Bánáti (Njie, 46.), Gavric (Schön, 57.), Bumba (Piscsur, 81.) – Benbouali. Head coach: Borbély Balázs.
DVSC signed Patrik Demjén. The 27-year-old goalkeeper was born in Esztergom and raised at MTK. He is a Hungarian Cup winner, who has been called-up to the national team several times and regularly played in the ranks of the youth national teams as well.
Patrik Demjén has made more than 200 appearances in NBI in the colours of MTK and Zalaegerszeg, so he is considered highly experienced even though he is in his prime. His particular strengths are footwork and saving penalties as we may recall that in DVSC–ZTE match in 2022, he also denied a penalty from Balázs Dzsudzsák. During the autumn, he saved the goal of MTK in 17 matches and from now on, he will continue in Debrecen. Welcome to Loki!
DVSC started the year and continued the league with home derby against Diósgyőr. Due to injury and illness, Ádám Lang, Bence Batik, Julien Dacosta and Victor Camarasa were missing as well as Dominik Kocsis, who was suspended. From the first minute, our 20-year-old homegrown goalkeeper Benedek Erdélyi — starting for the first time in NB I — was on the pitch, along with Erik Kusnyir, who returned after a long absence, and Flórián Cibla.
Based on the votes of our supporters, Tamás Szűcs was named the best Loki player of the autumn season. The young midfielder received the award before the match from Mark Stott, chairman of the Board of Directors of DVSC Futball Zrt. and Simon Wilson. board member. Special recognition goes to our outstanding striker Donát Bárány, who proved himself not only on the pitch but in the classroom as well. He received his master’s degree in sports economics on the field from Prof. Dr. habil Veronika Fenyves, dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Debrecen, and vice-dean, Dr. Bácsné Prof. Dr. Éva Bába.
The match started at a good pace and Loki tried to take the initiative, which worked at times, but there were some minor chances in front of both goals. The first major opportunity came in the 15th minute, which resulted in a goal: Colley fired into the far corner from the left inside the penalty area (0-1). Diósgyőr took the lead and by the 19th minute, they have doubled their advantage. Colley broke into the box from the right by the goal line, while Bokros arrived at the far side and easily finished from close-range (0-2).
Thus, the match started badly for Loki and coming back from there looked like a difficult task. The comeback was not realized until the final minutes of the first half, in fact, Colley missed a one-on-one opportunity. However, during the extra time, DVSC pulled one back: at the end of a great action, Flórián Cibla dribbled past his defender and curled the ball into the far corner from the right side from 14 meters (1-2).
At the very beginning of the match, Benedek Erdélyi made a brilliant save to deny Colley’s attempt. After that, Loki equalized! In the 49th minute, Dorde Gordić made an excellent run down the left wing to the goal line and delivered a fine cross, and the arriving Erik Kusnyir, who was back on the pitch after two years, fired the ball into the net at the far post (2–2).
So the team managed to fight its way back, a clear sign of its mental strength. From then on, it was Loki’s will that prevailed: in the 54th minute, Sentic saved a header from Josua Mejías. Two minutes later there was no mercy — Tamás Szűcs struck beautifully from 20 meters into the bottom right corner (3–2). From that point on, it was a joy to watch our team’s football and fans could see some great actions.
In the closing stages, György Komáromi came on, followed shortly by Soma Szuhodovszki, Maximilian Hofmann, Adrian Guerrero and Fran Manzanara. Loki tried to put the important three points beyond doubt, while Diósgyőr squandered several chances to equalize. In the dying moments, after a free kick from Balázs Dzsudzsák, the Diósgyőr goalkeeper made a great save, and Adrian Guerrero also came close to scoring. In the end, no one found the net again, the score remained 3–2, and a very valuable victory was secured for Debrecen.
The next match will be on Saturday in Győr.
According to the coach
Sergio Navarro: It was an incredible match. During the break, I told the players that they have a strong mentality and I was sure that we could win the match. I’m happy that we managed to do so. I’m satisfied with the team’s performance.
Vladimir Radenkovic: In this match, mental strength was the most important. We entered well and in the first 50 minutes, we played well, but after that we showed our worse face. We should have known how to play when our opponent is coming back.
Fizz Liga, round 19.
DVSC-Diósgyőr 3-2 (1-2).
Nagyerdei Stadium, 3902 spectators. Referee: Bogár G.
Ahead of Sunday’s DVSC–Diósgyőr match, the new leadership of our club was introduced to the public at a press conference. Among those attending the event were Dr. László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, Mark Stott, chairman of the Board of Directors of DVSC Futball Zrt., Simon Wilson, member of the Board of Directors of DVSC Futball Zrt. and CEO of Stockport County FC, and Balázs Makray, managing director of DVSC Futball Zrt. Ádám Bogdán, the new sporting director of DVSC was not present due to illness.
At the press conference, managing director Balázs Makray said that the current period marks a milestone in the life of DVSC. He added that the final months of the past year were difficult for the club. However, the mayor, the municipality and its companies stood by Loki, and now a new era has begun with the change in ownership. Stott Capital Hungary Kft. has become the majority owner of the club.
Dr. László Papp said that this is indeed a milestone in the history of DVSC. “I am a Libra, I like things to be in balance. This balance has been missing from Loki’s life in recent times. The city has always provided the proper background for football in Debrecen, and this will continue to be the case in the future, but we are very pleased with the involvement of Mark Stott and his colleagues. We have held many discussions for the future of DVSC, and in Mark Stott I have come to know a precise businessman who loves football. The club’s stability is now in order, and we can move on to a period of building that will once again raise Loki among the best Hungarian clubs,” the mayor stated.
Mark Stott, owner of the investor group that now holds a majority stake in DVSC, agreed with the mayor’s remarks, stating that balance is indeed a very interesting word, as it is something we strive for in everything, at all times. He added that although they are also owners of the English club Stockport, they consider DVSC an independent project. Great emphasis will be placed on building a community, on growth and development, and he feels that everything needed for this is in place in Debrecen. “I am excited and very happy to be here. An exciting and long journey lies ahead of us,” Mark Stott added.
According to Simon Wilson, they would like to prove that something truly special can be achieved in Debrecen. The professional has spent his entire career in football, knows all levels of the game well, and believes that DVSC is a well-functioning club with the necessary passion. “I’m not saying we will win the Champions League right away; the most important thing is stability and continuous development,” said Simon Wilson.
The facts
In December 2025, significant changes have occured in the company’s ownership and capital structure. On 23 December 2025, Stott Capital Hungary Kft. purchased the 60,02% share of NSE Sport Invest Kft. in DVSC, thus, becoming the majority owner of the club.
On 29 December 2025, DVSC FUTBALL Zrt. held a General Assembly at which the owners resolved to increase the company’s registered capital from HUF 46 million to HUF 55.2 million, as well as to carry out a capital increase with share premium. The capital restructuring was successfully completed. On 30 December 2025, Stott Capital Hungary Kft. purchased the 10% share of FIVE ELEVEN Capital Ltd., thus, its share has increased to 75% + 1 vote in DVSC FUTBALL Zrt.
The new majority owner’s objective is to ensure the club’s long-term, stable operation and to further develop the infrastructure and professional activities.

On Thursday, DVSC played the second pre-season match in the training camp in Turkey. The opponent of Loki was OFK Beograd, which is currently in the 9th position in the 16-team Serbian league. Due to minor injuries, Bence Batik, Ádám Lang, Dominik Kocsis, Soma Szuhodovszki and Maximilian Hofmann missed the match, while several young players were given an opportunity to feature.
At the beginning of the match, OFK Beograd led several attacks and took the lead in the 8th minute with a close-range shot (0-1). After that Loki had more possession of the ball and dominated in the midfield at times, but could not equalize until the break, even though our team showed some good actions (such as Yacouba Silue’s header, who came on as a substitution).
The substitutions brought new energy for the second half and DVSC posed more threat on their opponent. At first, Flórián Cibla, then Álex Bermejo was close to scoring. In the 61st minute, Márk Szécsi was fouled within the box and Donát Bárány converted the awarded penalty (1-1).
In the final minutes, there were some chances in front of both goals, but in the 84th minute, OFK scored after a quick attack (1-2). Our team will continue to train in the next days and play against the Slovenian Maribor next Tuesday.
On Sunday afternoon, DVSC played their first pre-season match in the training camp in Turkey. The opponent was the 14-time Serbian champion and 10-time Serbian Cup winner, Crvena Zvezda, who have also won the European Cup in 1991. Many young players from Loki got an opportunity this time.
The match started in windy and rainy weather and with an even game of the two teams. In the 8th minute, after a free kick by Balázs Dzsudzsák, the ball went over the crossbar, and in the 18th minute the Serbian side took the lead: Donát Pálfi produced a fine save from Duarte’s close-range shot, but the striker converted the rebound (0–1). In the 32nd minute, Zvezda doubled their advantage, as Lucic broke through one-on-one and fired into the middle of the goal from 14 metres (0–2). Although the flow of the game did not necessarily suggest it, just before the break, in the 43rd minute, the Serbs struck again: from Stankovic’s second assist, Lucic scored his second goal from a few metres out near the offside line (0–3).
Substitutions came on for the second half and for a while, Loki struggled to pose much of a threat to the opposition goal. However, in the 64th minute, Dominik Kocsis broke into the penalty area from the right and unleashed an excellent shot into the far top corner from around 14 metres (1-3). The closing stages produced fewer spectacular moments, and no further goals were scored.
Next week will continue with trainings and a match against OFK Beograd.
DVSC has prolonged Tamás Szűcs’s contract until the summer of 2029.
The 20-year-old, hard-working U21 international midfielder joined Loki in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a regular starter and one of our fans’ favorites thanks to his performances. Tamás Szűcs has so far made 47 league appearances for DVSC, scoring 5 goals.
— At the beginning, perhaps even we didn’t think that the team would gain such a boost with the appointment of Sergio Navarro, but as time went on, we saw how effective our work together could be. A relationship developed between the coaching staff and the players that is very rare at this level. I won’t deny that personal connections also played a major role in my decision to extend my contract. Although I had specific offers from Western Europe, I felt that staying at DVSC would best serve my development at this moment. I feel good here, and in the spring we can fight for goals that are worthy of the club, the city and the supporters — said Tamás Szűcs.
Congratulations to our player on the extension of his contract!
László Simon has joined the professional staff of DVSC, who among other things, can be a great help in the day-to-day work during the transfer window, through his active involvement in selection and analysis processes.
The young, but already experienced, 36-year-old professional has previously supported the work of Sajóvölgye Focisuli, the DVTK Football Academy and the first team of Kazincbarcika. In 2022, he joined the analytical staff of the Hungarian national team, where he faces challenges at the highest level. At the national team, he is also responsible for scouting opponents, primarily analyzing rivals’ set pieces, corners and free kicks.
– I’m from Kazincbarcika and as a coach, I’ve worked my way up the ranks. I’ve been part of head coach Marco Rossi’s staff for three years now. I’ve had the chance to take part in a European Championship as well, experiencing what it’s like to work under great pressure, in big stadiums, alongside professional players. Last year’s promotion to NB I with Kazincbarcika was also a milestone in my life, and then several clubs approached me during the winter. In case of DVSC, I felt that the club truly wanted me to join Loki, which was extremely appealing. Since I was born in the north-eastern region, there was no question which team I would choose. Loki’s history and philosophy also convinced me that I want to be part of this project; everything predestines the club to belong to the elite of Hungarian football – László Simon told dvsc.hu.
The 38-year-old Ádám Bogdán has become the sporting director of DVSC. The 21-time capped former goalkeeper completed the sporting director programme at the PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) Business School in England, thus, joining the Loki family with a high-level qualification. He also has ties to Debrecen as his grandfather grew up in the city, while his grandfather’s sister worked at the university here, so Ádám often visited Debrecen as a child. Welcome to Debrecen again, welcome to Loki!
During his outstanding career, Ádám Bogdán gained extensive experience in British football. At a young age, he signed his first professional contract with Vasas, before moving to England at the age of 19 to join the first-division team of Bolton Wanderers. Over the years, he played for Bolton and Crewe, he was signed by Liverpool in 2015, and later also saved the goal of Wigan and the Scottish Hibernian. In total, he made 123 league appearances in the Premier League and the Championship, in addition to featuring in numerous cup matches. After returning home, he won three league titles and a Hungarian Cup with Ferencváros. Following his retirement, he worked at the Hungarian Football Federation, where he was responsible for liaising with youth international players based abroad and their clubs. More recently, he has also worked as a professional commentator for the M4 sports channel.
– We welcome Ádám, a highly qualified professional to the Loki family – someone, who understands our club’s values, fully embraces its philosophy and possesses a modern approach to football along with international experience. He speaks English fluently, and in addition to working independently in his role as a sporting director, he will also serve as an excellent link between our English owner’s professional staff and the experts in Debrecen. Our shared goal is the structured development of DVSC Football Academy’s young players and their integration to the first team of Loki. It is an honour to have him among us, we warmly welcome him and wish him a lot of success together with us! Hajrá, Loki! – said managing director Balázs Makray about the sporting director.
Ádám Bogdán also talked about his principles and plans in his interview for dvsc.hu. – When DVSC approached me, I immediately felt that neither side could have found a more ideal situation for working together. Now, the club has an English owner and I have spent many years in that football environment. I lived essentially just ten minutes from the region where Stockport is located, spending at least 10-11 years in that area. I know and love that football culture and that football “language”. At the same time, I am naturally very familiar with the Hungarian football environment as well. As a result, this is a fusion that feels tailored for me – a meeting point of the English and Hungarian football – said the sporting director, who also went on to speak about specific plans.
— The most important thing is to keep as many of our valuable assets, our key players as possible during the transfer window, while at the same time being able to improve the quality where necessary. We are in a good position as the coaching staff and the team did an excellent job in the first half of the season. We are heading into the spring from a strong position in the league, which provides a great platform for performing well in the remaining part of the season. Many things are working well in Debrecen. The foundation of my football philosophy is work, built around developing local, homegrown young players and helping them progress into the first team, with the ultimate peak of potentially participating in international cups. This has a strong tradition in Debrecen and I see it as a wonderful challenge. That is what we want to achieve again — naturally, while recognising that there have always been, and always will be players that arrive from the “outside” and can also add value. One of the attractive factors about Debrecen was that all the foundations are already in place here and it is a functioning model, one that can be built upon and meaningfully enhanced. The club’s new owner and professional staff share this way of thinking — we see things in the same way — so there is nothing standing in the way of embarking on this journey together.
Ádám Bogdán will join the team soon in the training camp in Turkey.
