In the 10th round of OTP Bank Liga, DVSC hosted Zalaegerszeg at Nagyerdei Stadium on Sunday. The starting lineup included our homegrown young talent, Imre Egri as well as Maximilian Hofmann.
The match began with a minute of silence in memory of former referee Gyula Lauber and our unforgettable former masseur, István Nagy.

At the start of the game, Loki took the initiative, and in the 7th minute, Balázs Dzsudzsák unleashed a powerful shot from 23 metres, which Gundel-Takács could only parry away. Our team dominated possession, but creating clear-cut chances proved to bedifficult, as the visitors defended in an organised manner. In fact, they also threatened in the 22nd minute following a corner, when Amato shot the ball narrowly wide from close range.
In the 27th minute, DVSC found the net through Blaz Boskovic at the end of a well-worked attacking move, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Before the break, Ákos Szendrei caused problems for the Zalaegerszeg defense several times, and in the 43rd minute, his efforts finally paid off. After a cross from Imre Egri, he produced a fine glancing header from nine metres, sending the ball into the right side of the net to make it 1–0. Therefore, DVSC went into halftime with the lead.

At the start of the second half, Plamen Andreevv produced a great save to deny Machado in a one-on-one situation, before Josua Mejías cleared the ball from just in front of the goal line. ZTE therefore made a dangerous start, but Loki quickly regained control of the game. The match became increasingly lively, and in the 57th minute, after some great dribbling, Vilmos Dénes fired a shot from 13 metres, but the goalkeeper of ZTE managed to keep it out at the near post.

Dominik Kocsis and Sohan Baldoni came on for the final half-hour, followed later by Sergi Samper, Flórián Cibla and Julien Dacosta. Kocsis and Baldoni made an immediate impact, scoring with virtually their first touches of the ball! In the 62nd minute, Balázs Dzsudzsák passed to Dominik Kocsis, who delivered an accurate pass into the middle, and Sohan Baldoni fired home from 10 metres into the bottom-left corner to make it 2–0.
The outcome was effectively decided, but DVSC continued to entertain the fans with some fine attacking moves in the closing stages. In the 68th minute, a header from Bence Batik looked promising, followed shortly afterwards by a shot from Sohan Baldoni. The third goal eventually arrived in stoppage time. After receiving a pass from Dominik Kocsis, Sohan Baldoni scored again, rounding the goalkeeper before calmly converting his one-on-one chance to make it 3–0. Overall, Loki secured a confident victory.
The next match will be on Saturday away against Honvéd.
According to the coach
Gert Remmel: For the coaching staff, the performance is the most important. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but we always concentrate on our performance. Today, we performed well, we attacked a lot and scored goals. I always say that the best way to defend is to attack.
Filipe Celikkaya: Debrecen deserved to win. We had great chances in the first half, but we could not score. After the break, we still tried to score, we had a chance, but we could not convert it. The result is fair.
