DVSC faced a real top-of-the-table clash on Sunday, November 1, playing against the leader of the table, Puskás Akadémia in Felcsút. Among the starting XI were our young homegrown players, such as Imre Egri as well as Sergi Samper.
Loki was clearly in control in the opening stages, winning possession frequently and earning several corners. Their pressure soon paid off: in the 7th minute, following a throw-in by Balázs Dzsudzsák and a flick-on by Maximilian Hofmann, Blaz Boskovic arrived inside the penalty area and headed the ball into the left side of the net from six meters out (0-1).

Thus, DVSC made a strong start, and in the 12th minute, the home goalkeeper was called into action to save a shot from Imre Egri. Shortly afterwards, our young player tried his luck again, curling the ball wide from 18 meters. The tempo was good, our team was playing well, and their high press made life difficult for their opponent. In the 22nd minute, Maximilian Hofmann headed towards the goal, but Lehoczki saved his attempt. Head coach of the national team, Marco Rossi, who was watching the match from the stands, would have seen the home side noticeably more active after the first 25 minutes. In the 33rd minute, for example, Plamen Andreev produced an excellent save to deny a header from Zsolt Nagy.
In the 38th minute, however, our goalkeeper could not prevent the equaliser. After a blocked attempt, András Németh unleashed a powerful shot from 12 meters into the bottom right corner (1-1). To make matters worse, Ádám Lang picked up an injury and had to be substituted, so Bence Batik came onto the pitch.

DVSC was dominating at the beginning of the second half as well. In the 51st minute, Ákos Szendrei was centimeters away from from getting on the end of the ball right in front of the goal. Backed by our supporters, Loki led several promising attacks, while Dominik Kocsis, Dávid Patai and Sohan Baldoni came on for the final half-hour, later followed by Flórián Cibla. The chances decreased compared to the first half and midfield play was dominating for a longer period.

During the endgame, Loki led more attacks. In the 74th minute, Ormonde-Ottewill elbowed Dominik Kocsis and received his second yellow card, resulting in his dismissal. Thus, our team was in a numerical advantage in the closing stages and pushed for all three point and their efforts paid off in the 85th minute. Dávid Patai delivered an excellent cross to the far post, Adrian Guerrero headed the ball back, Bence Batik arrived and sent it into the net (1-2). The final blow came in the 91st minute. After a pass from Ákos Szendrei, Sohan Baldoni broke through the defence and shot the ball into the bottom left corner from 10 meters out (1-3).
The victory extended DVSC’s unbeaten run to five consecutive competitive matches and marked their fourth win in a row. The next match will be against Újpest on November 8 at Nagyerdei Stadium.
