DRAW IN THE 1ST PRE-SEASON MATCH: DVSC-AUSTRIA WIEN 1-1

DVSC began the pre-season matches against a prominent opponent, taking the field against the fourth-placed Austria Wien during the training camp in Austria.

At the very beginning of the match, Loki earned three corners and in the 2nd minute, the Austrian goalkeeper made a brilliant save to deny Erik Kusnyir’s powerful shot. DVSC was dominating and in the 12th minute, Balázs Dzsudzsák’s effort once again forced Radlinger into action. It was a telling statistic that after 14 minutes, the corner count stood at 5–0 in DVSC’s favour.

In the next minutes, the Austrian team also reached the goal of Loki. In the 17th minute, Plamen Andrejev had to perform a save. However, in the 22nd minute, our team took the lead, which was fully deserved: after Balázs Dzsudzsák’s cross, Sohan Baldoni made a nice header into the right corner of the goal (1-0). In the next period, DVSC controlled the game mostly, but in the 38th minute, Austria Wien earned a penalty, which was converted by Johannes Eggestein (1-1). Thus, the teams went into the break level.

DVSC fielded an entirely new lineup for the 2nd half, and the game became more evenly balanced, with both sides enjoying spells of dominance. In the 53rd minute, Máté Kohut’s header was well saved by the Austria Wien goalkeeper, while moments later, at the other end, Plamen Andreev produced an excellent save to deny a close-range effort.

In the 63rd minute, Máté Kohut was close to scoring, but his lofted attempt drifted just wide of the target. Both teams created some chances in the closing stages, but neither was able to find a breakthrough and the score remained unchanged.

Overall, DVSC showed a highly encouraging performance. The team will now continue its preparations with training sessions before playing two more pre-season matches next week.
