Fizz Liga 2025/2026

DRAW FOR THE THIRD TIME: DVSC-GYŐR 1-1

A high-stakes clash awaited the third-placed DVSC on Sunday evening, as they battled for the bronze medal and a spot in international competition, hosting the leader of the table, Győr. Donát Bárány and Botond Vajda were unavailable due to injury, while Patrik Demjén, Adrian Guerrero, Dorde Gordic and the young Flórián Cibla were included in the starting lineup.

The match began at a lively pace, with a true derby atmosphere thanks to the Debrecen supporters. Loki took the initiative, earning several corners and winning plenty of possession. In the 9th minute, Flórián Cibla’s shot already forced a save from Petrás.

The first fifteen minutes did not produce any major chances and there was an even battle on the pitch. DVSC played in an organized and effective manner, and when needed, our players defended with great commitment. In the 32nd minute, at the end of a fine move, Dominik Kocsis flicked the ball just wide of the goal, then Ádám Lang’s long-range effort was parried with some difficulty by the goalkeeper of Győr.

In the 38th minute, Dominik Kocsis hit the target again, but it still did not result in a goal. At the other end, however, Győr found the net: in the 39th minute, Vitális deceived everyone inside the penalty area and from 8 meters out on the right fired the ball into the right side of the goal (0–1). Loki thus went into the break trailing.

The second half began with attempts from Debrecen, though the match still lacked clear-cut chances. One such moment came in the 59th minute, when Josua Mejías headed wide from close range. Our team fought bravely against a strong team. In the 65th minute, Adrian Guerrero’s header was also dangerous, while at the other end Patrik Demjén made a brilliant save to deny Benbouali’s close-range header.

For the final stages, Fran Manzanara and György Komáromi came on (later Gergő Tercza, Dávid Patai, and Víctor Camarasa also came off the bench), and the equalizer came! In the 73rd minute, following Erik Kusnyír’s cross, Flórián Cibla arrived at the far post and headed brilliantly into the far corner from six meters (1–1). Our homegrown player scored again after his brace against Diósgyőr, and DVSC remained unbeaten against Győr in this season — this was their third draw.

The next match will be away against Paks on Sunday.

According to the coach

Sergio Navarro: I’m very happy with the team’s performance, I’m proud of the players. We are improving, and we were able to show that against a strong opponent. We didn’t manage to score the winning goal, but I’m still satisfied with our performance.

Balázs Borbély: The first half was a tactical battle; neither team wanted to take risks. We scored a fine goal before the break, and then we aimed to threaten from the counterattacks. That worked, but we couldn’t get a second goal and DVSC capitalized on a mistake.
