On Friday, DVSC played their third pre-season match in the Austrian training camp. In the match against Croatian top-flight side Slaven Belupo, the coaching staff mainly gave opportunities to players who had either not featured or played only limited minutes in Thursday afternoon’s game against Zeljeznicar. Several young players were included in the starting lineup, including Benedek Erdélyi, Gergő Tercza, Dávid Patai, Leon Myrtaj, Imre Egri, Balázs Sain and Máté Kohut.

Our team made a lively start and the overall tempo of the match was consistently high. Our team frequently applied aggressive high pressing to win the ball back, often with success. Both sides tried to attack, but neither managed to create a clear-cut scoring opportunity during the opening 20 minutes.
In the second half of the first period, DVSC gradually took control of the game. In the 29th minute, Josua Mejías headed just wide following a corner, while Balázs Sain fired narrowly over the crossbar in the 37th minute. The first half ended without any goals, although Benedek Erdélyi had to make an important save at the end.

The second half remained entertaining and DVSC took the lead in the 51st minute. A well-worked move ended with a cross from the right, and Imre Egri arrived at the far post to guide a fine header into the right side of the net (1-0).
The Croatian side pushed hard for an equalizer afterwards and even struck the woodwork, but DVSC defended solidly for the most part, while also producing some impressive counter-attacks. Bálint Tuska, who came on as a substitution, made several fine saves and ensured the score to remain unchanged. Thus, DVSC secured a victory.
The team will continue its preparations at home next week.
