DVSC has been unbeaten in Fizz Liga since August and in the 13th round, our team visited MTK, which has also been performing well, on Sunday afternoon. Loki was supported by more than 500 fans on site. Among the starting XI was Botond Vajda as well.

At the beginning of the match, both teams tried to impose their own style of play: MTK tried to threaten with quick through balls, while Loki tried to pressed their opponent high up on the pitch. The first chance came in 8th minute, but Botond Vajda shot wide off the goal from a distance. In the 13th minute, MTK earned a free-kick about 18 meters from the goal, but Bognár’s shot was blocked by the wall.

In the 20th minute, Balázs Dzsudzsák shot a free-kick from 30 meters, but Demjén made a brilliant save. Not long after, Ádám Varga also made a huge save on the other side of the pitch to deny Átrok’s close-range shot. The match was becoming more and more dynamic and both teams were dangerous. In the 34th minute, Dominik Kocsis’s shot was blocked, then Ádám Varga saved Ádin Molnár’s shot. MTK took the lead before the break: in the 38th minute, at the end of a quick attack, Átrok broke free from the defenders and used his one-on-one opportunity (1-0). Moreover, in the 43th minute, the home team doubled their advantage: Bognár found himself unmarked and made no mistake, drilling the ball into the far corner from 8 meters (2-0).

Julien Dacosta came on for the 2nd half (not long after, Dorge Gordic and Dejan Djokic also came off the bench as well as Álex Bermejo and Flórián Cibla later), and Loki tried to change the situation. Our team managed to gain upper hand in possession, but couldn’t turn it into real chances. MTK, on the other hand, scored again in the 59th minute – after a questionabla handball incident and a cross from Bognár, Ádin Molnár flicked the ball in the net from close-range (3-0).
Even though there was still time, the fate of the three points was already decided and we could not pull one back this time. Our team will spend the national team break being on the podium and the next match will be against Kazincbarcika in two weeks at Nagyerdei Stadium.
According to the coach
Dávid Horváth: We delivered a brilliant performance and showed the best play of this season in the first half. The players can be proud of themselves.
Sergio Navarro: It was a tough game and our opponent played better. In the first half, they were already leading with two goals, so we changed for the second half and tried to create chances. Congratulations to MTK!
