Fizz Liga 2025/2026

Great victory in the first home match: DVSC-MTK 1-0

DVSC played the first home match of the 2025/26 championship season against MTK on Friday evening. Amos Youga was missing due to suspension, and besides Erik Kusnyir and Neven Djurasek, who have been injured for a longer period, Botond Vajda, Maximilian Hofmann and Fran Manzanara were absent due to minor injuries. However, Adrian Guerrero made his debut in Loki.

The match was preceded by moments of celebration: the U19 and U16 teams of the DVSC Football Academy have won the youth Hungarian Cup and the latter has won the bronze medal in the league as well. Balázs Makray and András Herczeg greeted the cup-winners before the game. A moment of silence was held in memory of István Szűcs, the former excellent goalkeeper of Loki, who passed away at the age of 73.

At the beginning of the match, Loki was more active. In the 1st minute, Adrian Guerrero shot just wide off the goal at the end of a nice action, while in the 4th minute, Donát Bárány missed the target. As time passed, the game became more balanced. In the 14th minute, Ádám Varga confidently saved a shot from Németh taken from 15 meters. In the 25th minute, Donát Bárány’s close-range header bounced off the crossbar, and shortly after, Demjén saved Balázs Dzsudzsák’s long-range shot.

In the 31st minute, Julien Dacosta cleared in a dangerous situation. The match was good and DVSC was organized. In the 35th minute, Bence Batik made a header from 10 meters at the end of a great team play, but Demjén made a save. Before the break, Ádám Varga saved Rajmund Molnár’s attempt. No goals were scored until the break.

At the beginning of the 2nd half, Soma Szuhodovszki’s long-range shot missed the target. The match was still eventful and Ádám Varga had to perform several saves. However, in the 56th minute, DVSC took the lead. After Balázs Dzsudzsák’s cross, Bence Batik nodded the ball into the right corner of the goal from 7 meters (1-0).

In the next minutes, the play became more vivid, Álex Bermejo and Márk Szécsi came on. Later, Dorde Gordic, Gergő Tercza and Flórián Cibla also came off the bench. MTK tried to increase the pressure, but our players stood still. In the 76th minute, Dominik Kocsis curled the ball over the goal, while on the other side, Ádám Varga performed one feat after the other. The endgame was full of excitements: Jurina, then Dorde Gordic and Adrian Guerrero almost scored. At the end, DVSC earned a well-deserved victory after a huge fight.

The next match will against Kazinbarcika in Mezőkövesd next week.

According to the coach

Sergio Navarro: We are training hard and try to develop all the time. We played against a good team and in the first half, we were a bit nervous. It changed after the break, we could score, so I’m really happy for this win.

Dávid Horváth: Our performance was inconsistent, we had some good periods and some less convincing ones. We had the chance to take the lead and later to equalize, but we did not make the most of them. In the future, we can’t afford to waste our opportunities.
