DVSC’s new head coach, Gert Remmel arrives in Debrecen from the coaching staff of the Polish first-division club, Motor Lublin. The 50-year-old Estonian professional has previously worked at Finnish clubs HIFK and Honka, while also gaining experience in Italy, Cyprus, and Croatia. In recent years, he has built a reputation in Poland. As a key member of the Finnish U21 national team’s coaching staff, he played a significant role in helping the team qualify for the 2025 European U21 Championship, where Finland earned points both against Denmark and the Netherlands.
Gert Remmel is widely regarded in football circles as an intelligent, innovative and experienced coach with a highly modern approach to the game. He is known for his preference for systems-based thinking and his excellent ability to develop young players. In addition, he has gained valuable experience in senior football through his work in the Polish league.
Besides Gert Remmel, Rasmus Jansson, who has also been a member of Motor Lublin’s staff, is also joining Loki. The 29-year-old Finnish coach has formed a strong partnership with the new head coach, having worked alongside him at several clubs. Rasmus Jansson is a perfectionist who excels as a video analyst, individual player development coach and a strategist as well. He is also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team’s coaching staff, which secured qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
DVSC’s coaching staff will also be strengthened by a 36-year-old Portuguese coach, Ednardo Monteiro. The assistant coach brings extensive experience in youth development and has served as head coach of several age-group teams in Poland. Most recently, he worked at Raków Częstochowa, one of the leading clubs in Polish football.
