DVSC, fighting for a medal, played away at Kisvárda in the closing match of round 29 of Fizz Liga at 8 pm. on Monday evening. Bence Batik was back in the starting lineup, while Soma Szuhodovszki substituted the injured Donát Bárány.

At the beginning of the match, both teams tried to play at a high tempo and the game was evenly balanced in the opening fifteen minutes. The first promising chance fell to Loki in the 13th minute, when Balázs Dzsudzsák fired over the bar from 20 meters. DVSC gradually took control of the game, but neither goal was seriously threatened.

In the 27th minute, Soma Szuhodovszki fired a shot on target from distance, but Popovics made a save. Errors became more frequent before the break, so it was no surprise that no goals were scored by halftime.

The second half also began with midfield play, and it seemed that a single goal would decide the match. In the 56th minute, Dominik Kocsis tried a long-range effort, but he narrowly missed the goal. Then, the first substitution, Fran Manzanara came off the bench, later followed by Víctor Camarasa and György Komáromi.

The closing stages began with a header from Víctor Camarasa in the 75th minute (which did not hit the target), and continued in the 82nd minute with a free kick from György Komáromi that went over the bar. In the end, no goals were scored, and the match finished in a draw, but DVSC still reclaimed third place in the standings.

The next match will be away against Diósgyőr on Saturday.

Attila Révész: We saw a balanced game; it was a hard-fought, physical match. There were many technical errors, and neither team was able to gain the upper hand.

Sergio Navarro: I am satisfied with the team’s performance. We defended well and also created chances, but unfortunately we couldn’t score. It’s not easy to achieve our dreams—we need goals for that—but we are on the right path. From now on, we focus on the next task.
