Szabolcs Kemenes Appointed as Director of the DVSC Football Academy

Szabolcs Kemenes will continue his career at the DVSC Football Academy as academy director and head of youth development. The 40-year-old former goalkeeper made around 200 appearances in the Hungarian top division, spending the majority of his playing career at Honvéd, where he also won a bronze medal.

His coaching career began at Budaörs alongside György Bognár, where he was also responsible for youth development. He later continued his work in the second division III. Kerületi TVE and also gained coaching experience in Spain. Subsequently, he established himself as head coach of the Hungarian U19 national team. Under his leadership, and with several Debrecen players in the squad, the U19 national team became the only Hungarian youth national side to qualify for the UEFA Elite Round, which was held in Italy this spring.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Szabolcs Kemenes is a modern-thinking professional who is highly familiar with contemporary training methods and possesses a thorough understanding of the requirements of elite international youth development. He also brings an extensive international network and strong ambition, qualities that will make a significant contribution to the work being carried out at the training centre in Pallag.

At the same time, András Herczeg will remain a highly valued and important member of the DVSC Football Academy’s professional leadership team. Together with his former youth national team player, Szabolcs Kemenes, he will continue to develop the next generation of football talents in Debrecen.
