Fizz Liga 2025/2026

No points this time: DVSC-Ferencváros 0-2

DVSC, which has been performing well, was ahead of a classic derby on Easter Sunday, hosting the title defender Ferencváros in front of a full house and in an incredible atmosphere. Our team could not count on Donát Bárány, who got injured in the national team, as well as Márk Szécsi and Adrian Guerrero. However, among the starting XI were Soma Szuhodovszki and Amos Youga too.

Loki started the match well and in a tactically disciplined manner. In the 4th minute, Erik Kusnyir, headed wide of the goal, then in the 4th minute, Madarász also made an attempt, but he missed the target. The play was even and there were a lot of duels. In the 12th minute, Tamás Szűcs unleashed a powerful shot, which went over the goal, while at the other side, Corbu nodded the ball wide of the goal. After a defensive blunder, Kovacevic could have scored, but he curled the ball wide in a one-on-one opportunity. For a long time, neither team managed to hit the target.

In the 20th minute, at the end of a fine attacking move, Dominik Kocsis shot wide from a tight angle. Shortly after, Corbu got into a promising position but curled his effort wide from 15 meters. Towards the end of the first half, DVSC continued to play with great energy and determination. In the 38th minute, for the first time in the match, Tamás Szűcs hit the target, but his 22-meter shot was saved by Dibusz. In the 41st minute, following a corner, the ball bounced off Josua Mejías and struck the post, thus, no goals were scored before halftime.

At the start of the second half, Szalai’s header was saved by Benedek Erdélyi, then in the 53rd minute, FTC took the lead. After Abu Fani’s cross, the ball found Corbu, who finished from close range, just a few meters out (0–1). Thus, DVSC found themselves in a difficult situation, which soon became even worse, as in the 60th minute, following a quick attack, Corbu scored again, lifting the ball into the net from 7 meters (0–2).

The tempo kept increasing, and Flórián Cibla and György Komáromi came on (later Dávid Patai, Gergő Tercza, and Stephen Odey—who made his debut for Loki—also entered the pitch). DVSC pushed hard to pull one back, but FTC also had their chances; for example, Yusuf hit the post from a one-on-one situation. In the closing stages, the substitutes brought fresh energy to our team’s play, but the result ultimately remained unchanged.

The next match will be away against Kisvárda on April 13.

According to the coach

Sergio Navarro: We play an even match against the best Hungarian team, so I’m satisfied with the team. We need to learn from this match and keep improving.

Robbie Keane: I’m really satisfied with our performance, especially with what we have showed in the second half. I’m happy with this victory as we know that it’s hard to win in Debrecen.
