On Sunday afternoon, DVSC played their first pre-season match in the training camp in Turkey. The opponent was the 14-time Serbian champion and 10-time Serbian Cup winner, Crvena Zvezda, who have also won the European Cup in 1991. Many young players from Loki got an opportunity this time.

The match started in windy and rainy weather and with an even game of the two teams. In the 8th minute, after a free kick by Balázs Dzsudzsák, the ball went over the crossbar, and in the 18th minute the Serbian side took the lead: Donát Pálfi produced a fine save from Duarte’s close-range shot, but the striker converted the rebound (0–1). In the 32nd minute, Zvezda doubled their advantage, as Lucic broke through one-on-one and fired into the middle of the goal from 14 metres (0–2). Although the flow of the game did not necessarily suggest it, just before the break, in the 43rd minute, the Serbs struck again: from Stankovic’s second assist, Lucic scored his second goal from a few metres out near the offside line (0–3).

Substitutions came on for the second half and for a while, Loki struggled to pose much of a threat to the opposition goal. However, in the 64th minute, Dominik Kocsis broke into the penalty area from the right and unleashed an excellent shot into the far top corner from around 14 metres (1-3). The closing stages produced fewer spectacular moments, and no further goals were scored.
